Discover the natural beauty of Umbria

Among the activities not to be missed, there are the Montelovesco waterfalls that can be reached with a short walk of half an hour, where you can refresh yourself and admire the pools fof water ormed by the falls of Lanna stream.
For nature lovers, about one hour drive, we recommend visiting the natural area of Montecucco, ideal destination for regenerating walks and exciting hang glider and paraglider flights.

Historical buildings and breathtaking views

Immersed in the nature of Umbria, Agriturismo Montelovesco is surrounded by a great variety of sites of historical interest and breathtaking views.

Inside our farm, along the path leading to the Montelovesco waterfalls, there is the Castellaccio, also known as Castrum Ane, an ancient Early Medieval ruin of the 11th century that represents an important historical, architectural and cultural heritage.

Continuing towards the agriturismo, on the road to Camporeggiano, it is possible to admire the Abbazia di San Bartolomeo (Abbey of Saint Bartolomeo), a jewel of the 11th century Romanesque art, with an evocative crypte.

Instead, with a short detour along the panoramic road to Gubbio, it is possible to reach the Eremo di Santa Cecilia Eremita (Hermitage of Saint Cecilia Eremita), an enchanted and evocative place where time seems to have stopped.

Near Umbertide, there is the Abbazia di San Salvatore di Montecorona (Abbey of Saint Salvatore of Montecorona), a place of great charm and spirituality immersed in the beauty of the Umbrian countryside.

Medieval villages and food and enogastronomic traditions

In addition to the famous art cities of Gubbio, Assisi, Perugia, Città di Castello, the area offers many charming Medieval villages, less known but interesting as well. Montone, home of the Umbria Film Festival and the Festa del Bosco, dedicated to local food specialties. Pietralunga, famous for the finest white truffle and the typical potato, are just some of the hidden gems of the region, reachable within half an hour by car from the agriturismo. For lake and nature lovers, we recommend visiting Lake Trasimeno.

The agriturismo is 15 km from Umbertide and 20 km from Gubbio, where it is possible to find restaurants, shops and services. Upon request, we can organise customised trips to visit the surroundings or to book transfers from and to the airport or station.

The area is renowned for Umbrian Slow Food products, including the fagiolina del Trasimeno (Lake Trasimeno bean), Mazzafegato of the Alta Valle del Tevere, and vinsanto made from smoked grapes from the Alta Valle del Tevere.
